Kanyakumari Syro-Malabar Mission emerged as the Southern epicenter of the spiritual development of the Arch Diocese of Changanacherry. On 24th April 1980, His excellency Mar Antony Padiyara blessed the first home of the Adoration congregation in Soosaipuram to sow the seeds of Eucharistic love in the hearts of the people of Tamil Nadu. The sisters from Changanacherry started their missionary work through catechism, house visits, and education. Although, there were many differences in religion, caste, culture, and language among the people, the sisters guided them into a drum of divine grace worship. Within the span of Thirty Eight years, we were able to spread into the three Diocese of Tamil Nadu - Thuckalay, Vellore and Ooty. Later on in 2008, in the Centenary Year of the Congregation, the houses in the Tamil Nadu Mission were brought together and was elevated into a Region on March 25, 2008. Today our sisters in 11 convents and 2 mission stations carry out services such as tailoring training for the betterment of the lives of poor girls, special education for mentally challenged children, palliative care, hostels for the care of girl children, home visits, pastoral work, spiritual counseling and education. St.Chantal Province , Thuckalay , Tamil Nadu was erected as the 21st Province of our Congregation by the Superior General Rev. Mother Rosily Jose Ozhukayil in the presence of His Excellency Mar George Rajendran, Bishop of Thuckalay on February 6, 2022.
